Cory is a computer programmer, digital artist, performer, and sometimes all three in one. He is best known for his Super Mario Clouds which is where he hacked the Nintendo game Super Mario Brothers and took out all the graphics but the clouds, leaving them floating in this infinite space. His work is concerned with recontextualizing pop culture images and aesthetic systems, and the relationship that certain technologies have on culture. He feels that it is ok to make art out of whatever program you want, as long as you’re acknowledging the aesthetic value of that program. One of his earlier works is called Data Diaries, and it’s pretty interesting! He also refers to an aesthetic called dirt style.
He is a really ineresting artist, I’ll just leave you with this!
